This quaint row of cottages and rooms, hidden beneath ancient cedars, is your no-frills, rustic, camp-like experience established in the 1940s.
If you require reliable Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk, or spa bathroom there are many nice chain hotels and beautiful luxury homes in the area. We are for folks who dig a more nostalgic feel and can appreciate the quirks as well as the character of old spaces. The doors are tricky, the 80 year old windows are far from energy efficient, and the cedar trees provide a constant cool dampness. The size of our tight bathrooms hasn't changed since the 40s, and the tiny queen rooms don’t have enough space for a dresser or chair. We decorate the rooms with vintage & antique finds and enjoy creating what we hope is a cozy atmosphere for your ‘up north’ escape.

The rustic nature of Anchor Inn is part of its charm, but it’s not for everyone.
EXPECT:
Small bathrooms & showers (we can’t change the size of the rooms, though we wish we could!)
Tricky old doors and windows you may have to push on a bit—but we love the character they add to the cottages
Every room is different, so if you’re really hoping for a specific room just call us.
Well water—perfectly safe to drink but not everyone’s favorite
Duplex style cottages, so you’ll probably share a wall with a neighbor
So if you’re on a tighter budget and looking for a unique stay with a private beach, we hope you’ll consider staying with us. We know this area can be very expensive in peak season, but we hope to offer a fun and interesting experience for everyone!
